The future looks bright for 10 Green Corps members of the Woady Yaloak Community Linking Project who graduated at a ceremony in October at the Smythesdale Gardens Reserve, Wannon.
The team planted trees, constructed tables and chairs overlooking the bird park, built a garden and paved area at the recreation reserve and restored the wetlands area.
Max Cameron, Team Leader of the Green Corps project said, “I’m very proud of what the team has achieved by working together. In addition to providing enhanced facilities for the community, they have graduated with qualifications in conservation and land management.”
The participants are looking forward to new opportunities resulting from their Green Corps experience. Some have secured employment and apprenticeships while others are progressing to further study.
