CVA Austinville Austinville Valley Landcare Community Restoration Program The purpose of this project is to rehabilitate new areas under Landcare management within the Nerang River Catchment and Mudgeeraba Creek sub catchment. Activities participants will undertake will include weed control, revegetation, seed collection, propagation, fence construction and weed monitoring.
CVA Gympie Youth for a Greener Cooloola This project is proposed to take place in the Gympie area. Team members will undertake a variety of restoration works on a degraded section of riverbank, ranging from removal of woody weeds, revegetation utilising locally sourced native species, and erosion control works (primarily through the application of weed matting and planting). Participants will also be involved in bush regeneration, fencing, weed removal from sensitive coastal wetland, boardwalk construction, planting tubestock, track repairs and seed collection.
CVA Kuranda Kuranda Riverlinks - Engaging Indigenous, Tablelands, Environment & School Groups This project will focus on the Barron River and the riverine corridor that surrounds it. Project activities include step and track construction, tree planting, collection of indigenous seeds and plant propagation, water quality monitoring, data collection, weed identification and eradication, GPS mapping, nursery setup including fencing, drainage and irrigation, establishing a bush tucker orchard and basic rainforest species identification
CVA Mackay Natural System Restoration of National Parks & Reserves in the Mackay district This project will be focussed on three main areas, the Finch Hatton Gorge section of Eungella National Park, Homevale National Park and Dipperu National Park. These areas protect vegetation communities containing endangered ecosystems. Project activities include structural upgrade to an existing mangrove boardwalk, resurfacing of eroded track, replacement and upgrading of an existing boundary stock fence, and removal and chemical control of weed species.
CVA Point Vernon Restoration of Paraweena Park Reserve at Pint Vernon This project will focus on the sustainable management of Paraweena Park. Participants will gain skills including leadership, confidence, team building and knowledge of local flora and fauna. Project activities include surveying threatened flora, mapping of threats and weed removal, collecting and propagating seeds, revegetation activities, installing interpretive signage and nest box construction.
CVA Stuart Creek Stuart Creek below Southwood: Bank erosion control and riparian rehabilitation The Green Corps team will participate in the prioritised rehabilitation of the Stuart Creek through building on the success of previous natural resource management, undertaking proven revegetation and weed control techniques specifically refined for the Stuart Creek site. Activities include flora surveys, flagging remnant vegetation, water quality monitoring, GPS and mapping, community liaison, risk assessment, weed removal techniques, shade house construction, planting, seed preparation and sowing.

Sunshine Coast Mountains to the Ocean Bioregional Connectivity Project This project aims to increase the connectivity of vegetation corridors across water catchment areas in the Sunshine Coast region. Activities at these sites will help improve water quality and overall biodiversity, and will provide a linkage for existing environmental projects in the region. Participants will be involved in tree planting, mulching, site preparation, weed control, site monitoring, flora and fauna surveying, seed collection and propagation, community engagement, and a variety of education and training activities.
Job Futures Cherbourg Cherbourg Nursery and Environmental Implementation Program The team for this project will focus on three main projects, the development of the community nursery, revegetation and weed control along the Barambah Creek, and the installation of a feature garden at one of the main parks in Cherbourg. Activities include vegetation and fauna surveys, water monitoring, plant identification, bush regeneration, weed control, track construction and maintenance, seed collecting, coordination and promotion of events, construction of greenhouse infrastructure, construction of signage, and the planning and design of an Indigenous garden.

Upper Ross Borrow Pits Conservation Area Establishment The major aim of this project is to re-establish local plant species and extend the habitat for native animals residing in and around the Borrow Pits. Through the installation of pathways, sheltered seating and endemic species revegetation, the project will provide visitors to the site with a great opportunity to appreciate the uniqueness of the local environment. Participants will work in partnership with the Townsville Region Bird Observers Club of Australia, community groups and other environmental organisations to undertake seed collection and water monitoring, construct and maintain infrastructure, construct bird nesting boxes and participate in community tree planting events.

Oak Valley Wildlife Reserve Trail Extension & Reserve Protection This project will extend access into Oak Valley Reserve through the construction of further walking trails. Participants will map and install walking trails, undertake weed control and revegetation and install bollards to prevent illegal access to the Reserve. The team will also undertake marsh and wetland revegetation work. Other project activities will include seed collection, water quality monitoring, wildlife surveys, construction of nesting boxes, and community tree plantings.

Toowoomba Escarpment Reserves Environment and Heritage Project This project will work with Toowoomba Regional Council and Friends of the Escarpment Parks, as well as other community and environment groups in the Toowoomba region, to assist with ensuring the long term sustainability of remnant vegetation of the Toowoomba escarpment area. The project aims to reduce environmental threats to the sites through weed control, revegetation, collecting seeds and propagating local plant species, installing appropriate walking tracks to help protect fragile vegetation recovery areas, and holding community education activities. Participants will undertake weed control, track maintenance, seed collection, revegetation, extensive and detailed fauna surveys, and environmental assessments at each project site. Other activities will include heritage work at Highfields Pioneer Village near Crows Nest and working alongside an Aboriginal elder to help preserve the Gummingurru Cultural Site.

Talking up our environment in the "Year of the Scout" Job Futures Bundaberg This project will enhance and promote the environmental aspects of Wyper Park. All works will be undertaken with minimal disturbance to the vegetation by creating an environmental parkland area which is accessible in a controlled way to the public, while at the same time preserving the rainforest and its fauna and flora. Participants’ activities include clearing weeds such as Lantana, defining and maintaning existing walking tracks throughout the park to minimise human impact, planting native vegetation such as Acacias, Eucalypts and Corymbia, clearing an existing concrete hold to facilitate water flow from a nearby natural spring, restoration work on the  70 year old Paramount Theatre seating, build a range of tailored ‘hides’ to attract birds, bats or possums native to the location and create a promotional brochure highlighting the Wyber Park’s  environmental features.

This project will implement the objectives outlined in the Coochiemudlo Island Land Management Plan. The participants’ activities include weed removal, seed collection and propagation, developing site plans and native species lists, surveying and mapping eroded foreshore areas, planting native seedlings, developing photo monitoring points, installation of fencing and the development of interpretive signs and brochures.
Upper Nerang River Riparian Restoration and Giant Barred Frog Habitat Protection Job Futures Numinbah This project will establish the first stages of a walking trail and provide a virtual herbarium where visitors and users at Bornhoffen Police Citizens’ Youth Club can learn about plants, trees, wildlife and insects native to the area. Participants will be involved in the development and installation of interpretive signage focusing on Indigenous land use, mapping significant sites, undertaking fauna and flora surveys, water quality testing, seed collecting and propagating. The participants will also work on a Giant Barred Frog research project in conjunction with the Griffith University Endangered Frog Research Centre.
Ross Riverbank Rehabilitation, Water Street Job Futures Townsville This project will be working with Coastal Dry Tropics Landcare group, other community groups and local residents with a main focus on ensuring bank stabilisation through revegetation. As part of the revegetation works, the team will remove weeds and revegetate the area using local tree species. The team will also control erosion using mainly revegetation techniques, collect data for the local council Urban Stormwater Quality Management plan, collect and propagate seed and build and install nesting boxes.
Alva Beach Protection Project Job Futures Ayr This project introduces community members to Aboriginal land management, traditional plants and the traditional owners’ spiritual connection with the land. Continued collaboration with traditional landowners will ensure Alva Beach will provide a range of cultural learning opportunities for community members. Project activities include restoring the sand dunes at Alva Beach, replacing wire and fence posts, revegetating with local provenance plant species to reduce erosion, revegetating wildlife corridors, facilitating a community planting session and enhance cultural awareness of participants and members of the local community in areas of Aboriginal customs.
Murray Lagoon Foreshores Project Job Futures Rockhampton The aim of the project is to re-establish environmental values of the Lagoon’s foreshore area and in turn improve habitat values and water quality of the Murray Lagoon site. The participants will aim to raise community awareness of wetland management, biodiversity, weeds and pests. Project activities include planting and regenerating native vegetation, undertaking water quality testing, establishing a demonstration site for composting toilet for community education purposes, undertaking weed control, building and installing bird hides and facilitating community training days and events.
Caring for Lake Barron Catchment Conservation Volunteers Australia North Maleny The participants on this project will work with the Lake Baroon Catchment Care Group to maintain and enhance four priority sites. Specific tasks for the team include weed removal such as hand pulling, brushcutting, cut and stump poisoning and herbicide spraying, pruning, revegetation works using native plants, track maintenance and development, installing interpretive signage, minor bridge repairs and painting and fencing to keep the public out of unsafe areas.
Community Support in the Rehabilitation of the Sarina Catchment Conservation Volunteers Australia Sarina The project will implement on ground works to rehabilitate, protect and enhance areas of significant environmental value as well as to increase community awareness. Participants will work with a wide range of groups with a common aim in addressing high priority land management issues within the Catchment. Project activities include restoring natural areas through revegetation and weed control, collecting and propagating seed, constructing bollard and stock fencing, undertaking track maintenance and monitoring coastal features such as dune profiles, ground cover and vegetation.
Horseshoe Lagoon and Horseshoe Creek Riparian Rehabilitation Conservation Volunteers Australia Townsville Horseshoe Lagoon is a managed water body flowing into a National Park. The Coastal Wetlands Protection Program has maintained a focus on the lagoon to ensure a sustainable future. The participants will be working with local landholders and Queensland Parks and Wildlife Services in undertaking the core duties of establishing vegetation in the area. This will be achieved by removing the Rubber Vine weed and re-establishing native grass, vines and shrubs. Other activities include seed collection and propagation, conducting a community working bee and water monitoring.
