Fred's Pass Reserve Lake Walk Conservation Volunteers Australia Fred’s Pass The aim of this project is to create a walking track around the lake and Palm Garden area, identify plants, eradicate weeds and plant indigenous species. Participants will be involved in activities include mapping weeds, restoring native vegetation, landscaping, undertaking nursery work, propagating, collecting seed, monitoring via photo points, undertaking surveys and cultural heritage activities and constructing and erecting signs.
Congress Alukura Traditional Women's Campground Conservation Volunteers Australia Alice Springs This project aims to restore the site’s natural environment with endemic and medicinal species, increase the biodiversity and habitat for local birds and animals and to provide a private and inviting setting for women to camp while learning and practicing traditional Indigenous women’s ceremonies, medicine, health and birthing. Project activities include building large raised garden beds for windbreaks, privacy and aesthetics, propagation of endemic species, arid bush food and medicinal plants at local community nurseries, restore and extend birthing sites and build other structures including a bush kitchen, retaining walls and two shaded meeting spaces, designing and installing a large water wise irrigation system and creating a small wetland area to process grey water from the bush kitchen and provide habitat for native wildlife.
Larrakia Cultural Centre Site Preparation and Funeral mound Maintenance at Mindil Beach, Darwin Job Futures Darwin This project will undertake initial ground works for the Larrakia Cultural Centre and maintain the sand dune system to ensure cultural sites are maintained. The Green Corps participants will be involved in fencing the sand dune (funeral mound) system, undertaking weed management activities, planting of native trees and installing irrigation and constructing a walkway from the cultural centre to the Mindil Beach foot/bike path.
