The purpose of the project is to create opportunities for the community for passive recreation in the area as well as providing suitable habitat for fauna within this urban corridor. The project will also improve the biodiversity of Tucki Tucki Creek. Project activities include developing a sensory garden, installing an Indigenous bush tucker garden, constructing a BBQ in the Friends of the Koala planting area, installing plant label posts and undertaking paving in selected areas. |

The participants will encourage bank stabilisation and habitat improvement through planting and erosion control, increase community awareness of natural resource management through educational material, protect sites of cultural heritage from vehicles through erecting steel bollards and protecting remnant vegetation and plantings through weeding and fencing. |

The purpose of the project is to undertake environmental restoration at Ropes Creek which includes the Endangered Ecological Community Sydney Coastal River Flat Forest. In addition to this, the Green Corps team will assist in the development of a community nursery and native seed production facility. The participants will be involved in collecting and propagating native seed, planting and maintaining sites, establishing production facilities for rare native groundcovers, undertaking targeted weed removal, assessing and surveying fauna habitat, facilitating community engagement and assisting local Bushcare groups with public tree planting days. |

This project will be working with the Port Macquarie Landcare Group to improve degradation caused by wave action and pedestrian and vehicle movements. The main areas of work will be undertaken at Pelican Point, Middle Rock and Henry Kendall Reserve. The participants will be involved in activities including installing fencing and pathways, designing and erecting signs, planting native vegetation and removing weeds. |

Project activities will occur in the Riverine Section of the Australian Inland Botanic Gardens. This is a not for profit community operated organisation. The Green Corps team will, among other activities, design and install a ‘sclerophyll’ garden bed consisting of plants that have adapted to survive in arid areas; monitor water usage using Enviroscan technology (a technique used to determine the water needs of plants); carry out biodiversity monitoring and pest animal and pest planting monitoring; undertake track rationalisation; construct nature trails, install interpretative signage and implement erosion control measures using environmentally friendly materials. |

This project is located at ‘A Taste of Paradise’ – a not for profit farm based project established in 1999 as a Mentoring and Work Experience Project for teenagers between 13 and 20 years of age. The Green Corps team will undertake activities such as regeneration of conservation areas including planting and propagation of tree species that prove to be good sequesters of carbon; research National Climate Change strategies and actions and identify opportunities to promote carbon offsets by tree planting; conduct climate awareness field days and work with Berry Landcare/Futurecare in setting up a ‘Clearing House’ to share information on the environment. The team will also participate in fauna and flor surveys and enhance their cultural awareness through study of Indigenous plant uses at Booderee Botanical Gardens (as part of their accredited training). |

This project will provide the opportunity to work in diverse riparian environments that occur in the Richmond River catchment and learn how different communities approach a range of environmental issues. Participants will work alongside some of the most experienced community volunteers, bush regenerators, and conservation workers in the district. Project activities include planting local provenance native trees, undertaking weed control activities, undertaking one vegetation and three fauna surveys, establishing photo monitoring points within the project site and encouraging community groups to continue the monitoring and undertaking of an erosion, safety and damage audit of all existing trails along Fawcett’s Creek and make recommendations for remedial action and repairs. |

This project aims to assist a region, once covered by Grassy White Box Woodland, to redress the current degraded state of the land. Some of the immediate concerns include native animal habitat loss, erosion, natural area degradation, salinity issues and weed invasion. Project activities include assisting with track closure and rehabilitation, controlling woody weeds, fencing to allow for the natural regeneration of native species, nursery maintenance including rebuilding hothouses and propagation of trees for future use by Landcare groups. |
